O.R. TAMBO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT SUPPORTS POLICE INVESTIGATION OF CASH IN TRANSIT HEIST

23 October 2014, Johannesburg – O.R. Tambo International Airport has confirmed that a cash in transit heist occurred just outside the airport earlier today.

The South African Police Service (SAPS) is leading the investigation and is prioritising the matter. O.R. Tambo International Airport’s security division is working very closely with SAPS to assist in the investigation.

O.R. Tambo International Airport would like to assure the public that the airport’s operations have not been compromised in any way. Airport management is confident that the current security measures are adequate to protect airport users.
